Super Bowl Comments
Bleh.
That was exactly the sort of Bears team that I was afraid might show up.
A lot of people are putting the blame on Grossman's shoulders but I don't think that's where it belongs. This team is based on defense first and their defense sucked. Sure they kept Indy out of the end zone for the most part, but did they have any three-and-outs that whole game? I'm too lazy to check, but I don't think so. They gave up 8-12 yard plays just about any time Indy needed them. They made the occasional stop on first and second down, but on third and eight they would let Indy's receivers catch the ball 10 yards down field, and then let them run a few more yards before hitting them. Eventually they Bears would stop them, either just before the endzone, or just out of field goal range, but is it too much to ask for them to make a stop in Indianapolis territory?
The Bears are a great play from ahead team. When you have to force plays they make you pay with turnovers, and impressive offence, but when their offense has to be the one making the plays, they're in trouble. Its been like that all year so it shouldn't have been a surprise.
There's a lot more I could say about the game, but its just going to put me in a bad mood, so I won't. Plus I have a ton of other post vacation stuff to catch up on.
So yeah. bleh.
